02 Feb A Focus on Team Challenge
During a three day course at Robinwood your days will be jam packed with a huge variety of activities. At the end of at least one of the days all of your groups will enjoy a Team Challenge.
You will take over one of our indoor spaces and get stuck into an evening of fun and games. Your Course Leader and Group Leaders will take turns to run a game or activity during which the children will earn points. Points are awarded for a number of different reasons, mainly winning the games. But the children will also usually gain bonus points for good listening, good sportsmanship and teamwork.
The teams will collect up their points and whichever team has the most at the end of the evening wins. Each Team Challenge is different to the next, and can be tailored to your school’s needs. Your Course Leader has access to a booklet which lists all of our games. Visiting staff will have the chance to choose which games are played. Or you are welcome to let our staff take the lead and choose the games they think will suit the children best. But don’t forget, you’re welcome to have a staff team too.
All of the games played are great fun, but also particularly focused on using team skills that the children have learnt during the day. Each game incorporates aspects of teamwork in different ways. Learning new skills through fun is fantastic for the children, and a Team Challenge can have a really lovely atmosphere, with the whole school group, coming together at the end of the day.
Towards the end of a Team Challenge it is usually time to review the day and give everyone a chance to reflect on what they have achieved. This often involves some hot chocolate and a biscuit. What could be a better end to a fantastic day at Robinwood?
